foodpanda Malaysia together with PolicyStreet today announced their collaborative effort to provide additional life insurance coverage underwritten by MCIS to all eligible B40 foodpanda delivery partners with a monthly household income of RM5,000 below or an individual income of RM2,500 and below.
Commenting on this initiative, Kelvin Chan, Director of Operations, foodpanda Malaysia said that this newly introduced life insurance coverage is a mark of foodpanda’s continued commitment to the health, safety and well-being of their delivery partners. “At foodpanda, we always emphasize on an environment that is safe and secure. Thankfully, we are able to make this a reality by partnering with PolicyStreet. With this additional insurance coverage, we want to be able to provide more comprehensive coverage for our delivery partners throughout their working hours, especially when faced with unpredictable weather and road conditions.”
Partnering once again with PolicyStreet, a leading insurance technology company, the life insurance coverage is complementary and given for free to eligible delivery partners for the next 12 months. Additionally, this insurance coverage is enrolled automatically thus making it as seamless as possible for eligible delivery partners to get instant protection.

With this additional life insurance coverage, eligible foodpanda delivery partners will now be insured for an additional RM25,000 for accidental death and RM5,000 for natural death payout. At the moment, all foodpanda delivery partners are insured for RM100,000 for accidental death but with the new coverage, all eligible delivery partners will now be covered for a whopping RM125,000.
